Enjoy water based fun like kayaking, sailing, jet skiing, and fishing excursions or just fish off the rocks or on the Old Mangere Bridge.  Try biking, walking, or birdwatching along our coastal walkways, hiking in native bush in the Waitakere Ranges and soaking up the colourful history in settlers museums, Pa sites and historic landscapes, such as the one of a kind Otuataua Stonefields. Explore on your own or connect with one of the local companies which will happily guide you.

And dont feel you have to drive everywhere. Check out the info showing train routes and stations, bus routes and cycle and walkways. Walk a waka portage route following the foot steps of the Maori and early settlers.

When you have finished your fun filled day there are plenty of wonderful restaurants, cafes and historic bars to relax in such as the Kentish in Waiuku and the Landing at Onehunga Wharf which have been refreshing harbour goers for over a hundred years.
